The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love

The Decemberists are currently a 5 piece indie/folk/progressive band that hails from Portland, US. Their latest studio album, The Hazards of Love, is a Concept feature inspired by UK folkie Anne Briggs' 1966 EP of the same name, has thick stoner-metal sludge and peat-bogged prog-folk arpeggios... (Pitchfork)
As Pitchfork suggest you don't get into The Decemberists for there riffs..Its the simplicity of the melody and 'Play like Track list' that either captivates you, or annoys the hell out of you. For me I really enjoyed the concept they were putting across.
The hightlights of the Album include the 4 track 'Hazard of Love' is an epic when played back to back and one of the highlights of this album that attempts to take you on a journey. Other tracks worth listening to include 'The Wanting comes in Waves, Repaid', and 'The Rakes Song'.
Worth a listen, and if you like Buy from Capitol
